Nissan Micra (93 - 02)
This particular model was and still is a huge seller. The reasons behind that are simple; it is cheap to buy, doesn’t cost a fortune to maintain, has the reliability factor, and it is easy to drive and manoeuvre. They’re also very popular among learner drivers. In terms of practicality, you can fit four and there’s a decent enough boot for storing luggage. The interior itself is well-built and nicely designed for a car of its age; the seating is comfortable and there isn’t any intrusive wind or road noise. On the road, it is so easy to drive that even as a learner driver you will feel confident. This handles well, the steering is sharp and responsive, and it feels refined and comfortable on the move.
Look out for
• The clutch in the earlier model is not great; check its condition
